Sister Midnight (2024)

When a daughter becomes the unwitting heir to her estranged father, all she wants is to refuse the heritage, and get back to her life. But a near-death experience changes everything. UMA and GOPAL, 30s, arranged newly-weds, sit on a crowded train, bound for Mumbai and their new life, gazing in opposite directions.

Domesticity is alien and irksome to Uma, with no idea how to cook. Gopal ponders the lives of men around him – steaming daal and samosas awaiting their return from work. All he has is an oddball wife who can’t stand the sound of his breathing. They’ve become solitary ships passing in the night. A cycle. Until a strange feeling takes hold of Uma – something is tearing her up inside.
